Ace Department

It is Day 2 of the fun, stylish, informative Altitude Design Summit in Salt Lake City. Wednesday was a day full of travel, yesterday I attended four smart panels (above is the Blogging Ethics & Etiquette panel) and the all-white attire “Winter Wonderland” party, and right now I am in the “Growing Your Audience” session with Maggie of Mighty Girl, Nicole of Making it Lovely, Jordan of Oh Happy Day, and Kelly of Design Crush. Big names, right?!

Just a few of the blogging and business tips I’ve picked up so far:

• To grow readership, create original, consistent content.
• Show your personality and use your voice honestly.
• Tin Eye is an online resource that can help you find out where your images are being used on the web.
• Link with Love – when sharing other people’s images, text, or work of any type, always link to the original source.
• If you plan to monetize your site, plan it around standard ad sizes.
