Stylate

Here’s a different way to approach branding for all you entrepreneurs with a great idea and no name for it.

Stylate offers a name, domain, and logo all for $250.  Not bad at all if you’re stuck.

I kind of adore this idea.  What do you think?

Could you love a business you didn’t name yourself?

Good idea

If you can spare ten minutes of email-writing time, you can help promote women in your field.  And since most of you are women, I think that’s a good thing.  Actually, the same idea applies to anyone, really.

Know someone worth recommending?  Take the time to do it; I think you’ll be surprised what comes back your way.

BetaKit

I’m checking out the just launched BetaKit site today. The new site from the creators of Sprouter covers world of start-ups and emerging technology. They plan to cover launches, funding, acquisitions, and trends with a focus on innovation.

Sounds good, but will it really be so different from Mashable or TechCrunch?

What is your source for tech news?

The Power of Thanks

How great would it feel to receive a heartfelt (and creative) thanks today?  Encouraging!

Read these ten stories and think of someone to thank.  Then go do it.

Here are the two that would totally flip my lid had I received them:

Mr. Martel —

My daughter and I just finished reading Life of Pi together. Both of us agreed we prefer the story with animals.

It is a lovely book — an elegant proof of God, and the power of storytelling.

Thank you.

Dear Amy,

I must write a special letter and thank you for the dream in the bottle. You are the first person in the world who has sent me one of these and it intrigued me very much. I also liked the dream. Tonight I shall go down to the village and blow it through the bedroom window of some sleeping child and see if it works.

With love from,
(Signed)
